Attend Omega Institute, August 18 - 20, 2006

"In its deepest form, education is the art of enticing the soul to emerge from its cocoon, from its coil of potentiality and its cave of hiding. Education is not the piling on of learning information, data, facts, skills or abilities – that’s training or instruction – but it is rather a making visible what is hidden as a seed." - The Education of the Heart (1997)
Thomas Moore's Omega Institute program at Rhinebeck, N.Y. for August 18-20, 2006 is available online. Moore and his wife, Joan Hanley (Hari Kirin Kaur) will present: The Education of the Heart: Caring for the Body, Soul & Spirit.
"We often focus on parts of our lives and neglect the rest. We go to work, go to school, exercise and diet, and learn spiritual practices.

In this workshop we reconnect these scattered parts — childhood, work, relationship, marriage, illness, creative expression, and spiritual development — to care for the whole arc of our existence as a way to give our lives more meaning and depth. . .

Through lecture, discussions, art, yoga, movement, and sound, we engage our body, soul, and spirit by paying close attention to the tie between emotions and spirituality. The workshop also includes issues of importance to the deep soul: dreams, memories, family and friends, beauty, and the role of shadow aspects of ourselves — regret, mistakes, losses, failures, frustrations, or endings."
The online description includes a list of "key takeaways" for participants and Continuing Education credit is available. Please bring a copy of Thomas Moore's book, The Education of the Heart, to the workshop.
