As a separate event Moore leads a retreat on Thursday 15 June 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and Friday 16 June 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Transformations Spirituality Center: Aging with Soul: A Retreat.
"You have to say yes to life’s invitations all your days, from childhood onward, and that way you become a truly aged person. You are mature, wise, self-possessed and prepared to share your achievement with others as an elder and teacher. Aging can be a rewarding experience. Also, you don’t have to see life in a straight line. Your childhood and adolescence and early adulthood remain with you, giving you a rich and varied texture. You can be young at heart forever."
Retreat registration is $160 when received by May 11, $185 thereafter. It includes program, materials, and lunch. Please register by May 26. Payment in full is due at time of registration, $60 of which is non-refundable.

Art and dreams help to reach ultimate mystery

Read the full description for The Marble Colloquium with Thomas Moore at New York City's Marble Collegiate.
Labyrinth Room
Sunday 30 April 2017
10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.
"Much of the great art around the world is found in the context of religion and spiritual practice. Nothing is more powerful to inducing a contemplative attitude than a beautiful statue of the Buddha or a Renaissance motet or cathedral ceiling. In modern life we usually place art in a more abstract location, a museum, home or slide show. We have lost touch with the immediate power of a piece of art to help you transcend your self and world to reach into ultimate mysteries. We also fail to understand how incredibly revealing night dreams can be and how they also take us to realms of mystery directly related to our lives. They, too, serve the spiritual life."
