U.K. professional workshop about job pleasures

In addition to his public evening event Pleasuring the Soul hosted by Re-Vision Centre for Integrative Psychosynthesis on Friday 20 April in London U.K., Thomas Moore offers a day-long professional development workshop, Voluptas: Workshop for Psychotherapists and Counsellors and other qualified professionals:
"With psychotherapy attempting to become virtuous in the public esteem, enjoying the work seems indulgent. To clear some space we shall explore ways of dealing with self-punishment, self-denial, a destructive sense of virtue, shadow aspects of sensuality and body, morality and moralism, religious asceticism, etc. The risk will be to discover our individual ways to deep and soulful pleasure and the not so superficial need for a graceful life."
Professional Workshop: Voluptas
Date: Saturday 21 April 2012
Time: 10.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m.
Fee: £90.00
Place: St Alban’s Centre, Leigh Place, Baldwins Gardens,

Come to Exeter College for Astrology in Action

The Faculty of Astrological Studies offers its Summer School brochure for this summer's program 17-24 August 2012 at Exeter College, Oxford. Thomas Moore is a guest tutor under Astrology in Action for Track 1: Living Soulfully, described on page 5:

Track 1: Living Soulfully Thomas Moore, Judy Hall, Dana Gerhardt and Laura Andrikopolous
"With the idea that 2012 marks a turning point now embedded in our cultural consciousness, many people are questioning established values and finding new meaning in spiritual understanding. Astrology can be an invaluable guide to characters, souls and inner landscape during this monumental shift in personal and global awareness. This track brings together astrological, psychological and spiritual perspectives from experienced practitioners for a profound re-visioning of relevant topics, including the astrology of happiness, psychological alchemy, and astrology’s gift of linking our daily lives with cosmic archetypes. We will see how we can find fulfillment and deep-seated, meaningful contentment by weaving astrological and spiritual practices into our daily lives. We will also discover the potential of these times for a shift in global consciousness on a  collective level, and how we can use our understanding of astrological patterns to navigate our way through a changing world."
Moore also participates in an evening session during the program. A registration form is included at the back of the brochure. You may enjoy reading "An Introduction to Archetypal Astrological Analysis" by Richard Tarnas.

Workshop about spirit and soul in psychotherapy

MAPS Counseling Services offers Spirit & Soul in Psychotherapy: Ethical Challenges & Clinical Applications with Thomas Moore, Friday 11 May 2012 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at:
Monadnock Covenant Church,
90 Base Hill Road.,
Keene, New Hampshire.

According to the host, "The importance of spirituality to healing is increasingly apparent to all health care practitioners, including psychotherapists. However, many therapists are taught to avoid spiritual or religious themes in their practice and are not trained in how to identify or work with our clients’ spiritual resources. Unprepared, this area is fraught with ethical challenges and pitfalls. Dr. Thomas Moore will guide the practitioner in how to effectively integrate spirituality in their clinical practice, recognize potential ethical problems and give them the skills to be more holistic and effective with all of their clients."

Licensed social workers, mental health counselors, psychologists, marriage and family therapists, and pastoral counselors are encouraged to attend this professional workshop.
Cost: $150 U.S.
Registration opens 26 March 2012.

A religion of one's own: the heart of secular life

The Isbourne Holistic Centre hosts Thomas Moore's public talk A Religion of One's Own, Monday 23 April 2012.

Moore writes, "Emerson said that every church has a membership of one. Today we can take that idea more radically and shape our lives around certain spiritual experiences that define us and put us in relation to the greater life and world. We all have such intuitions and inspirations but may not see their importance to our spiritual lives. The way to this religion is through self-therapy, natural mysticism and intuitive response to life. This deeper religion is in no way separate from secular life. In fact, it is the heart and soul of secular existence."

Program: 7.00 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.
Tea and book signings: 8.30 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.
Early-Bird registration: £10.00 (by 9 April)
Regular registration: £12.50
Online registration is available through the page linked above.
