A vision of love, respect, healing, and compassion

With the Book of John, Thomas Moore completes his translation and commentary of the GOSPEL series published by SkyLight Paths. This series is a powerful contribution to the poetics of religion. Moore writes that his favourite page is the beginning of the Book of John. He states in the Introduction to the series,
"In my translation there is no suggestion that readers should believe in anything, join an organization, or abandon their cherished religious and philosophical ideals. I see no reason why a Christian, an agnostic, a Buddhist, or even an atheist would not be charmed and inspired by the Gospels. Anyone can freely and without any worries read the Gospels and be enriched.
These texts are sacred not because they belong to a particular religion or spiritual tradition but because they offer a vision and a way of life that transcends the limits of reason and will. ..."
Readers of the GOSPEL series may enjoy Moore's book, Writing in the Sand: Jesus and the Soul of the Gospels (Hay House, 2009).
