The New England Educational Institute's 2014 Cape Cod Summer Symposia includes Thomas Moore's program
Psychotherapy, Spirituality and the Soul from 7 July to 11 July. Scroll down
here for the initial listing of Moore's symposium. The course is at the Four Points by Sheraton, Eastham, Massachusetts, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Before then, Moore presents
his program in Galway, Ireland from 19 May to 23 May 2014:
"In this symposium, Dr. Moore will offer a way to practice soul-based psychotherapy, an approach that has ancient roots and has been developed by C. G. Jung, James Hillman and Thomas Moore. It is primarily for psychotherapists of all kinds, but since psycho-therapy here means caring for the soul in distress, which can include physical and social symptoms, the course is also designed for anyone looking for meaning and a release from suffering."
Moore discusses classical myths related to therapy: Artemis, Daphne, Chiron, Acteon, Hermes, Aphrodite, Asklepios. His focus on Jung looks at Jung's methods of self-therapy, including play, active imagination, personification and artistic expression. James Hillman’s work on images, ideas on therapy,
anima mundi (soul in the world), the polytheistic psyche, and the role of beauty are included. Participants learn to use dreams and the arts in therapy and to employ deep intuition and other traditional, mysterious ways of knowing.
